The art of influencing others towards one’s “intent” has been a hot topic of discussion among both people managers [and] authors on leadership. In this book, Joseph, a good friend of mine, is attempting to decipher the topic with a twist. He helps the readers to reframe their mindset and focus on the “need” of others before deciding the “how.”Joseph shares various stories to raise awareness on behavioral responses and offers his perspectives as well as introduce[ing an] RSA model to help perfect the art of influencing. This is a good read for anyone who wants to get things done through people.

Joseph succeeds in sharing his knowledge and perspective in a simple manner without taking an approach [that] may be too academic. It provides great examples of how people could be motivated and influenced while showing common pitfalls … when assuming a leadership position. A recommended book for executives of all ages.

It is never easy … dealing with human beings. The ability to influence the behaviors of others (positively) and attain predictable outcomes would be the ultimate mastery for every leader. There are many leadership [studies] on influencing behaviors. The “RSA” model mentioned by Joseph in this book is a pragmatic model that is simple to integrate into decision-making process[es] by most leaders in an organization.
